After all, it has been a 20-year-long wait as V Shem and Wee Kiong are the first Malaysian pair to make it to the Olympics final since Cheah Soon Kit-Yap Kim Hock won silver in the 1996 Atlanta Games.

One day earlier, national mixed doubles pair Chan Peng Soon-Goh Yiu Ling defied all odds to make it to the finals of the Olympics with a straight sets victory over Xu Chen-Ma Jin of China.

While Malaysians posted their heartiest congratulations and reactions to the match on social media...

...one particular video stood out from the rest. Watch this video below and be ready to get all the chills! (Don't forget to turn on your speakers!)

The video above was taken moments after the men's doubles semi-final match at the Rio Olympics, and it perfectly captures the lively atmosphere at a local condominium.

Evidently, there were loud cheers from the residents that broke through the streets, as Malaysians could not contain their excitement when Team Malaysia secured yet another ticket which puts us closer to the golden glory at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

The video was taken by Jassimran Singh and posted by a fellow Facebook user, Kashminder Singh.

The short clip obviously resonated with many local netizens as they were reminded of how sports could unite everyone

Perhaps there isn't much cinematic value to the video but it is definitely one of those heartwarming videos that remind us that we, Malaysians, will always rally behind our national heroes! :)

If you love the video above as much as we do, here’s another epic video of the scene — Malaysians cheering for nearly 4-minutes straight, as if they were watching in a stadium!
